too good to be true?

as a journalism major, i’ve had to take some classes that i refer to as “graphic design lite.”  i had a class that taught me how to use quark xpress and other page layout software (because of this class i was able to teach myself how to use adobe indesign), and one that taught me photoshop, and one that taught me some design.  cool.  well, the sad thing is that i’ve had to go to the lab to use any of this software, which makes me sad, because i don’t ever think about uploading photos to my flickr page until the lab is closed, or full for a class.  so today, when i found out that you can get a version of adobe photoshop for free, I was ridiculously excited.

i haven’t downloaded my copy of photoshop express yet, but the usa today article does mention that it offers the most basic photoshop tools (cropping, converting to black and white), which is handy.  you do get 2 GB of space for free storage of photos, which is nice.  the sad part is that i’m guessing that i won’t be able to upload any of the pictures i took with the newspaper camera–file size limit is 10MB.

you can download adobe photoshop express here.

this is why journals should be kept under pillows

we watched ‘thank you for smoking’

and you wanna be nic.

but with your debonair

don’t give a shit

nonchalant charm, and accidental chivalry

i already need you a pack a day.

improve your vocabulary!

before you stop reading, just go to this site and play the game.  i can’t get past level 41.  even though it makes me think a little too much, i like the fact that it helps the united nations world food program.

i think it’s ridiculously fun, and more addictive than that lemmings game that was all the craze in fourth grade.

terror = banjo

i had a dream this morning.

i went to a sleater-kinney concert (yeah, in my dream they got back together). my grandma gladdie (i definitely don’t have a grandma gladdie) was playing guitar (i think she replaced corin). the concert was over, and i was going into the building to find her and say hello, and give her the flowers mom had sent over. on my way in, i saw a friend of mine (who in real life i haven’t seen much lately). he and i chatted, and he couldn’t believe that my grandma was the one rocking out. he wanted to meet her. she thought we were getting married. she wanted the band to play the reception.

i don’t know why i’m still thinking about it .
